This summer, we took a trip with the Bettridge clan to Dollywood. I'll admit, I wasn't too trilled with a plane ride with Rylynn, but she did very well. Here are some of the highlights.
The first night, we stayed at a hotel in Knoxville before going on to Gatlinburg to meet up with the rest of the family. Mallory and her family stayed at the same hotel, so we were able to hang out with them.

in Knoxville.
One of the things we did is go to the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge. It was a very interesting tour. Seeing all the various items they had was fascinating.
One thing they did have there was one of the violins that belonged to one of the band members on the ship. It was on loan to the museum. It was one of the violins that played as the Titanic was going down. Normally, they don't allow photography in the museum, but they were allowing only photos being taken of that violin.
Here are more pictures from our trip to Disneyland
Disneyland was all dressed up for fall and Halloween. Lots of fun. This was on the ride on the tram from the parking structure to the park.
All the girls had breakfast at Ariel's Grato with Ariel and 4 other princesses. We had Ariel, Minnie, Snow White, Cinderella and Belle.
All the girls with Ariel. Yeah.... Rylynn wasn't very happy.

At California Adventure, there's A Bug's Land. Rylynn loved that area.
Rylynn on "Flick's Flyers". You sit in Chinese take out
containers and it goes around.
There's also Heimlich's Chew Chew that she really liked. I couldn't get a picture of her on that one.
They had a splash pad right in the middle of A Bugs Land. Yeah, she loved it.
The last night there, we left Rylynn with Debbie at the house and we went and did a ride or two and explored Downtown Disney which included the Lego store.
Ryan and the Hulk made entirely of Legos.
The Genie, Aladdin and Jasmine on the flying carpet
(again, made entirely of Legos)
All in all, it was a fun trip. Lots of fun spending time with family and giving Rylynn time to get to know her cousins and Ryan's mom better.
This year we went to Phoenix for Thanksgiving to visit Ryan's Mom and sister. We drove and, for the most part, Rylynn did very well.
For the drive down, we stopped in Beaver for a quick bathroom/out of the carseat stop. Then on to St. George for lunch. I decided to drive from Beaver to St. George. I had my first, my first speeding ticket. I was going 78 in a 70 in Cedar City. The Sheriff was nice and wrote me for only going 5 over. I guess it had to happen sometime.
We stopped in St. George for lunch. We decided to eat at Red Robin. Rylynn was putting on the charm the entire time. There was a sweet couple sitting at a table near us. She was smiling and cooing at them the entire time.

After that, we had a fairly uneventful drive, until we got about 15 miles out of Vegas. Rylynn was done at this point. She was crying and screaming and was just done. We drove into a truck stop got her out of her carseat. I told Ryan that I think a blessing was needed, so he gave her a blessing that she'd be able to handle the rest of the drive and would be able to handle the coming changes.
After that, I held her for a minute and then we put her back in her seat, and then Ryan swung her for a while until she fell asleep. We topped off the car (most expensive gas ever) and drove until we got to Marisa's house.
Thanksgiving
Rylynn had her first Thanksgiving in Surprise, AZ. She tried some mashed potatoes and ate a roll, but that was about it (it was nap time when we ate).

We had a great trip in Phoenix spending time with family. Here are a few more random pictures from that trip.
Playing with Duplo blocks.
Having fun with Nana.

the way home.
This is Rylynn's first Easter and I think the Easter Bunny and I both went a little crazy. In her basket is a bunch of books, a chocolate bunny for Mommy, a package of hair bows (that match her Easter dress) and a "My First Easter" bib. The picture makes it look like the basket is bigger than it really is. It's just more towards me than she was (I had to prop her up somehow).
